Il lancio è programmato per la serata di giovedì 25 aprile.La missione è la Shenzhou-18, a guidarla il veterano Ye Guangfu, pilota sperimentatore e taikonauta che ha già una missione spaziale all'attivo nel 2021. Con lui due taikonauti alla loro prima missione, Li Cong e Li Guangsu. "Per me, tornare nello Spazio è un nuovo inizio - ha detto il comandante - in più di due anni, oltre a completare vari corsi di riabilitazione il più presto possibile, la cosa più importante è stata tornare con l'addestramento allo stato fisico e mentale idoneo alla missione. Attualmente la Tiangong ha una configurazione completamente nuova per me e il numero di compiti, la complessità e le difficoltà operative sono aumentate significativamente. Come comandante che guiderà due nuovi compagni di squadra ad andare nello Spazio, il mio compito è rafforzare la gestione della missione, la collaborazione Spazio-Terra e l'integrazione del team, sono tutte sfide nuove per me.
