C'è meno panico. Nulla di nuovo, è noto che a livello psicologico sono un anestetico, un diversivo. E' come una versione moderna del 'panem et circenses' romano, se gli antichi si distraevano, o venivano distratti, con i giochi nelle arene noi ci distraiamo così". A dirlo, all'Adnkronos Salute, lo psichiatra Claudio Mencacci, presidente della Società italiana di neuropsicofarmacologia (Sinpf). Il prevalere dell'indifferenza, sottolinea Mencacci, è sicuramente un elemento negativo. "L'indifferenza - continua - è stata definita anche cancro dell'anima e può essere favorita dalla continua condizione di minacce, allarmi - come alle Olimpiadi in questi giorni - guerre vicine e vicinissime. Il sentimento di indifferenza però, più propriamente, interviene quando si perde fondamentalmente il sentimento di vicinanza con gli altri. E le vacanze, in realtà, fanno in parte perdere il sentimento di vicinanza con i colleghi, con una parte di famiglia. E ancor di più accade per le situazioni lontane". L'esperienza ci dice che "l'attenzione e il senso di allarme, nei periodi estivi, si attivano per i fatti che riguardano più le persone, la cronaca, i delitti". Non a caso sono molto più difficili "dimostrazioni e contestazioni pubbliche. Tutto è molto più sottotono - conclude - nonostante la gravità dei fatti sia evidente.
